As per the report, Thoubal Police arrested 30 cadres of proscribed groups which included 16 cadres of Revolutionary People's Front (RPF)/ People's Liberation Army (PLA), one overground worker of PLA, one cadre of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak- Progressive (PREPAK-Pro), four cadres each of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), two cadres of Kangleipak Communist Party - Military Council (KCP-MC). Thoubal Police also seized numerous firearms, including seven 9MM pistol, one each of .32 and 7.65MM pistol, 15 hand grenade, 138 live bullets of different guns, nine detonator, three wireless detonator reviver, one each of remote control, walkie talkie and 9-volt battery.

A senior militant of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I), ‘major’ Bubul Chandra Baruah alias Sangram Saikia, surrendered before the Special Branch of Assam Police in Kahilipara locality in Guwahati city of Kamrup Metropolitan District in Assam on February 2, reports Hindustan Times. Baruah was born in Miripathar Bhajo village of Charaideo District and joined ULFA-I in June, 1997 when he was pursuing his bachelor’s degree at Sonari College. “From 1998, he was involved in imparting arms and medical training to the outfit’s cadres and since 2011 he has been working as chief of arms and medical camp at the ULFA-I camp at Taga in Hukawng Valley located in Kachin State of Sagaing Division,” said the Police release. Further, the Police report suggested that Baruah provided arms training to around 700 cadres and medical training to 150 cadres of the outfit between 2011 and 2019.

On March 10, Manipur’s cabinet decided to withdraw the State Government from Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreements with three hill-based insurgent groups of the Kuki community, namely the Kuki National Army (KNA), the Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) and the Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA), reports India Today NE. The decision was taken after violent clashes between Police and protestors from various Kuki organisations who took out rallies in Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Tengnoupal Districts against the decision of the State Government to declare parts of the Kuki inhabited areas in Manipur as ‘reserve forests’ and protected areas. Despite the protest, the state cabinet reaffirmed that the government will not compromise on steps taken to protect the State's forest resources and to eradicate poppy cultivation. According to ENPO, the “fake draft contains certain points such as (a) to pursue for laying down of arms by the national workers hailing from eastern Nagaland region (b) to put up border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border, touching the areas of eastern Nagaland.” The ENPO said that nowhere in the original proposed draft submitted by ENPO to the Government of India (GoI) is there any mention of surrendering of National Workers from Eastern Nagaland along with arms in the event of signing of Memorandum of Settlement (MoS), “keeping in view that the Naga National Movement is a greater movement for a common cause.” ENPO said it was constrained to issue its official statement with regard to the ongoing talks between the GoI and ENPO on the new arrangement for socio-economic uplift of eastern Nagaland.
