Taliban fighters launched an assault on the residence of a former member of the security forces in the Dasht-e Qala District of Takhar Province and killed his sister and injured his mother on night of April 25, reports afintl.com. The identity of the former member is not disclosed. According to the sources, he had served in the previous government as a member of the popular uprising forces and sought refuge in Iran following Taliban's takeover of power. Recently, he was expelled from Iran and returned to Afghanistan. Following expulsion, Taliban targeted him in this attack.
On April 24, an operative of the banned outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), identified as Mohin Uddin, was arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) in the Belabo Thana area of Narsingdi District of Dhaka Division, reports Dhaka Tribune.Shireen Akhter Jahan, Director of the Media and Awareness Wing of ATU, confirmed the arrest and stated that one mobile phone, two SIM cards, three extremist books, and screenshots of two Facebook IDs were recovered from his possession.
On April 27 (today), two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel identified as Sub-Inspector N Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini were killed while two others identified as Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Hussain sustained injuries in an attack by suspected Kuki militants in Naransena area under the jurisdiction of the Moirang Police station in Bishnupur District of Manipur, reports India TodayNE andNDTV. Sources stated that a group of militants opened gunfire from a hillside in Naransena village towards the valley region, targeting a central security force (SF) post. The bomb, fired by the armed groups, fell and exploded inside the outpost of B/128 Bn CRPF at Naransena, causing severe injuries to four personnel. Two of them later succumbed to their injuries.

On April 26, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) chargesheeted an accused identified as Thaha Naseer in the 2022 Islamic State (IS) inspired Coimbatore car bomb blast case, reports NIA. The blast was triggered on October 23, 2022 in front of Arulmigu Kottai Sangameshwarar Thirukovil Temple at Eswaran Kovil Street in Ukkadam in Coimbatore District of Tamil Nadu, by a vehicle-borne impoverished explosive device (VIED), driven by accused Jamesha Mubeen, who was killed in the blast. NIA investigations revealed that Thaha Naseer was a close associate of Jamesha Mubeen and Umar Faaruq, the Amir or the leader of the attack. NIA further revealed that Thaha Nasser along with another accused had visited Jamesha Mubeen’s house a week before the blast and had planned to use the explosives to carry out a series of terror attacks.
