Later, on September 26, at the same location, Kendraichara Village Development Committee chairman and IPFT leader Sudhir Debbarma was killed by terrorists of the NLFT-Nayanbashi faction. The IPFT has close links with the Biswamohan Debbarma faction of the NLFT, with which the Nayanbashi faction is carrying on an internecine warfare. Member Parliament Ali Muhammad Naik was also present at the venue. SF sources said that the fidayeen, who attempted to storm the camp in a car, failed and assumed positions outside the gate of the camp firing at the sentry. Two SF personnel and the three fidayeen, who were Pakistani nationals, were killed in the ensuing encounter. Two SF personnel and two civilians were injured. In another incident on the same day in the same district, unidentified terrorists attacked the residence of a ruling National Conference (NC) activist at Badarhar. The NC activist was killed and his wife sustained injuries in the attack.

According to the police, two armed Naxalites went to the house of the victim and indiscriminately opened fire at him from at close range. He died on the spot.
