On January 11, a joint operation between Military Intelligence (ECIB), Security Forces (SFs) and the Longding Police resulted in the arrest of six hardcore cadres of National Socialist Council of Nagaland - Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh, reports India TodayNE. The arrested cadres, on interrogation, revealed information about a concealed cache of arms located between Knoknu and Khasa Villages. In response, the SFs extended their operation to the specified area, resulting in the recovery of three MQ assault rifles, detonators and various warlike stores.

In one incident, two PREPAK-Progressive cadres were arrested for extortion of money from the general public in Imphal West District. While in another incident, Police raided a hideout and arrested two cadres of PREPAK-VC for extortion from various shops in Imphal West District. Acting on a tip-off about the movement of insurgents for carrying out abduction and extortion in Sangsa village, the Assam Rifles launched an operation. As the insurgents were intercepted, they fired on the Assam Rifles troops and soon a gunfight broke out. In the gunfight, one insurgent was killed while another was apprehended, officials said. An automatic rifle, an automatic pistol, grenades, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered during the incident.

On March 27, four suspected cadres of Kangleipak Communist Party -Noyon faction (KCP-N) were arrested along with weapons at Meitei Lamkhai, Langthabal near Lilong bridge in Imphal West District of Manipur, reports Northeast Now. The arrested cadres were identified as Wahengbam Mathoi Singh (32), Sorenshangbam Bungcha Singh (47), Thongam Joynanda Singh (49) and Ak Sanjoy (34). The accused were involved in the transportation of arms and ammunition as well as extortion activities for KCP-N in the valley areas. One pistol and two grenades were recovered from them.

The arrested cadres were identified as Salam Rameshwor Singh (48), Tongbram Gyanjit Singh alias Chinglensana (39), Pukhrem Ingocha Singh (40) and Thokchom Temba alias Wakheiba (50).
