Meanwhile, in a search operation conducted by SFs in Bishnupur Bazar area, one militant identified as Ngangom Pavin Singh alias Naocha belonging to the Progressive faction of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK-Pro) was arrested on June 1. A mobile phone was recovered from him. It was revealed that he had extorted money from contractors and general public. And in a follow up action, another militant of PREPAK-Pro identified as Nongmaithem Tomba Singh alias Tayai was arrested from Wangoo Sabal Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur District on the same day. A 9mm pistol with magazine and a mobile phone was recovered from him.

One mobile was recovered from him. The Sangai Express reports that a militant of the United Faction of Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA-U) identified as Gouthang Gangte was arrested from Paona Bazar in Imphal West District by Security Forces (SFs) on June 24. On follow up action, a militant identified as Haominthang Kuki alias Jol was also arrested from Tribal Market in New Lambulane of Imphal West District and another militant, identified as Lanminlen Gangte alias Len Gangte was arrested from Minuthong area Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) Office in Imphal West District on the same day. On interrogation it was revealed that Gouthang Gangte along with his associates had kidnapped a non-Manipuri broker identified as Sunil who stayed at a rented house at Major Khul in Imphal West District, from BT road fly over in Imphal West District on June 20 and demanded ransom of INR 1,00,00,000 from MJP Enterprise where he works. On June 30, âlieutanant colonelâ Hopeson Ningshen of Isak-Muivah faction of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) has been sentenced for life imprisonment for abduction and murder of three Manipur Government officials identified as Kishan Singh, Y Token Singh and A Rajen Sharma in 2009, reports The Assam Tribune. Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge Vinay kumar Gupta at Patiala House Court in New Delhi pronounced its verdict.Kanglaonline reports that Kukis under the aegis of the KukiI Inpi Manipur (KIM) will hold a peaceful protest rally on July 4, to air grievances over the attitude of the Government of India (GoI) towards the plight of the Kukis who had endured âcriminal and genocidal acts of NSCN-IMâ in the 1990s. Rally will be conducted in hill Districts including, Moreh, Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi, Saikul, Churachandpur, Jiribam/Phaitol, Mongneljang Ukhrul Districts and Imphal. It has been alleged that NSCN-IM in the 1990s carried out mass murder of Kukis resulting in 905 deaths, uprooted 360 villages and displaced 1,00,000 people.
