In the same district, PWG Naxalites blasted a farmhouse belonging to a TDP leader and Mandal Parishad President, Prabhakar, at Tagarakunta village. The Naxalites also reportedly left a letter stating the action was taken against Prabhakar for his anti-PWG activities.

A major mishap was averted on June 2 at Eturunagaram forest area, Warangal district, when a left-wing extremist--Naxalites—of the People's War Group (PWG) triggered-landmine missed the intended target of a special police party combing the area. According to media reports, a special combing party went to the Gurrevula village in Eturunagaram mandal (administrative unit) to rescue a local leader of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP), who was facing a threat from the PWG. When the police party was returning with the leader, the Naxalites blasted landmines planted on the bank of river Godavari near Gurrevula, but the landmine missed the target resulting in no loss of life. However, the Naxalites later managed to escape.

According to media reports, 20 Naxalites led by a woman came to the bank in a lorry and threw bombs to scare away the public entering the bank. After looting the bank, they addressed the gathering outside the bank and said that the attack was in protest against the ruling Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP’s) anti-people policies and irregularities in the Food for Work schemes. Police suspect the involvement of the People’s War Group (PWG) in the incident.

According to media reports, approximately 25 persons claiming to be PWG Naxalites of the Krishnapatti dalam (squad) armed with lethal weapons entered the bank. The cashier reportedly fled the place with keys on noticing the armed Naxals. The Naxalites made a vain attempt to break the cash box. Later, they went to a liquor shop destroyed the liquor bottles, furniture and a fridge. They also threatened the owner of the bar and ordered him to stop the business.

Approximately 40 left wing extremists–Naxalites of Krishnapatti dalam (squad), including eight women of the People’s War Group (PWG) attacked a police station at Nandigama in Krishna district on June 28. According to media reports, the dalam is active in Guntur district and crossed over to the Krishna district probably with an intention of looting arms and ammunition from the police station. However, no arms were stored inside the police station and the Naxalites escaped after assaulting the unarmed sentries at the station gate.
