According to a Times of India report, left-wing extremist (also Known as Naxalite) outfit, the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), has announced a unilateral cease-fire against the mainstream party, Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist (CPI-ML). The report said both the organizations have been, for the last several years, engaged in a bloody war in the Magadh and Bhojpur areas of Bihar. A press release issued by the general secretary of the CPI-Maoists said the cease-fire decision has been taken by the CPI-Maoist outfit to stop the loss being suffered by the allies and concentrate on the larger objective of the Naxalite movement and to fight the class enemies. The turf war between the CPI-Maoist and the CPI-ML suited the designs of the landowners and exploiters and as such, the CPI-Maoist has decided to enforce unilateral cease-fire, said the statement.
