A statement issued by the PIB Defence Wing, said that SFs arrested an over ground worker of People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), identified as one Heisnam Hirachandra Singh (38), resident of Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai in Bishnupur District, on April 3. He revealed that he is actively involved in recruitment, tax collection and extortion for the outfit from Nongmaikhong area. The National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM) on April 19 accused independent MLA from Phungyar Assembly Constituency of Ukhrul District Wungnaoshang Keishing that he has been working hand in glove with Ibobi government’s policy to disintegrate Naga territories by creating a new cosmopolitan District, states Kanglaonline. Wungnaoshang Keishing has been demanding a separate district for the Phungyar sub-division by bifurcating the Ukhrul district, and according to the MLA himself and indeed many observers, this was objected by among others, the NSCN-IM and so also the United Naga Council (UNC). Wungnaoshang Keishing`s convoy was attacked by heavily armed persons near Riha village in Ukhrul District on April 15 killing eight people which include six of the MLA’s security guards and two civilians. Keishing escaped with a minor injury in the incident. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack on the MLA.

Airtel denied that it stopped its operations in Manipur following continuous attacks by militants on telecom towers and employees associated with the industry, reports Yahoo news. "Airtel services in Manipur continue to work as usual, allowing our customers to stay connected with friends and family," an Airtel spokesperson said. Earlier, it was reported that unidentified militants had torched an Airtel tower at the Langol game village in Imphal. There are five telecom companies operating in the region. They are BSNL, Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Reliance and Tata Indicom. In 2010 militants destroyed 10 BTS towers whereas 17 towers in 2009. In February 2010, the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) issued a warning that all the mobile companies were banned in Manipur. In the past four months, the Police have registered nearly six cases of attacks on telecom employees. But till now no arrests have been made.
