On November 2, an active United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent (ULFA-I) cadre identified as Ashiq Ali alias Riyaz Asom surrendered before Assam Police in Sivasagar District of Assam, reports India TodayNE. He also handed over one Chinese hand grenade along with one mobile handset. Reportedly Ashiq Ali joined ULFA-I on April 17, 2022, and afterwards, he had undergone two months of training. He belonged to the 86th batch and undertook training along with a total of 55 cadres at Operation Camp Konyak region in Myanmar. A group of nine cadres from United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent (ULFA-I) left their camp from Myanmar on October 18, 2023, for an abduction mission in Tinsukia District of Assam, Northeast Now reports on November 5. The group allotted the task for abduction consisted of Mriganga Asom (Area commander), Nabajit Asom (second-in-command), I-wan Asom, Ban Asom, Bonjit Asom, Uma Asom, Nanu Asom, Latest Asom alias Kulang Moran, Gopal Asom alias Polash Moran. The Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) called upon the Centre as well as the state government to push for a conclusion to the peace talks between the outfit and the Centre and Assam government at the earliest, India TodayNE reports on November 6. The KLO also demanded that all charges against the outfit's ‘chairman’ Jeevan Singha and other cadres should be dropped and they should be formally pardoned, to facilitate the smooth passage of a peace accord. The outfit further demanded that steps must be taken for the formation of a separate state of Kamatapur, carved out of portions of Assam and West Bengal. Along with this, the KLO also demanded that the Kamatapuri language must be included into the Eight Schedule of the Indian Constitution and given due recognition. Of them 4203 cadres are from National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), 1926 cadres are from Karbi outfits while 1182 rebels are from Adivasi outfits.
