Two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured after a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) went off in a forest between Murkinar and Chinnekadepal area under Modakpal Police Station limits in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on September 30, reports Zee News. Inspector General of Police (Bastar range) Sundarraj P said, the incident took place around 10.45 am in a forest between Murkinar and Chinnekadepal camps of Security Forces (SFs) under Modakpal Police Station limits, located over 400 kilometres from the State capital Raipur, when a team of the CRPF's 170th battalion was out on a road security operation. While the patrolling team was cordoning off the area, two constables, Sannidul Islam and K Balkrishna, belonging to the same unit, inadvertently came in contact with a pressure IED connection, triggering the blast, he said, adding, the two personnel received leg injuries and are said to be out of danger. A search operation was underway in the area, he said.
Meanwhile, Posters demanding the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) to stop killing innocent villagers by planting Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the forests appeared in different villages in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on September 25, reports Telangana Today. The posters in the name of Mazdoor Sanghatan (Labour Organisation) were found tagged to trees at Ammapenta and nearby villages under the limits of Kistaram Police Station on Saturday (September 25), Police said. The organisation wanted the Naxals [Left Wing Extremists, LWEs] to let the tribal children of in the villages to choose their future by going to schools and colleges. The posters clearly indicate the growing dissent among tribals towards the Maoists, Police added. On the other hand, Maoist posters appeared at Sameli village of Sukma District appealing to villagers to make the ‘Bharat bandh’ [all India shut down strike] called on September 27 to protest against the Centre’s three farm laws’ a success. It might be noted that the Maoists extended solidarity to the day-long bandh called by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM). The Maoists have also damaged a road on Jagargunda and Dantewada stretch.
