An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with Security Forces (SFs) at Rakhama village in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on October 1 (today), reports Daily Excelsior. On a specific information troop of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) launched a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at Rakhama village in Shopian, in the wee hours on Friday (October 1). After sealing all the exit points, when SFs were moving towards a particular area in the village, militants hiding there, opened fire, Police spokesman said. SFs also retaliated ensuing in an encounter, the spokesman said adding a militant was killed so far, whose identity is yet to be ascertained. The operation was going on the reports last came in.
Meanwhile, Police found Light Machine Gun (LMG) rounds and a rusted magazine in Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on September 29, reports Daily Excelsior. Police said that Police party from Budhal, recovered an envelope concealed under a boulder at Targain Jalamang. During search, 25 rounds of LMG (rusted) and alone rusted magazine was recovered. It has reportedly been hidden by some anti national elements, they said adding that a case has been registered and investigation started.
