Sidhu blamed the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement signed with the Kuki militant outfits for the rising crime and unchecked violence in some parts of the State. The civil society group said that due to the improper implementation of the truce details there were unrestricted and open extortions being carried out along with abductions for ransom which had become routine. It added that the Imphal-Moreh Sumo service was suspended due to monetary demands imposed by the Kuki National Army (KNA) on the transporters.
