Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, including one Pakistani, were killed by Security Forces (SFs) during an encounter at the Chaktaras Kandi area of Kupwara District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on June 7, reports Daily Excelsior. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Range, Vijay Kumar said the Pakistani terrorist goes by the code name Tufail, whereas the second terrorist killed was identified as Ishtiaq Lone from Tral. Two AK-56 rifles were found from the killed terrorists.
Separately, Police on June 7 recovered three magnetic Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) dropped by a drone in the border area of Kantowala-Dayaran in Kanachak of Akhnoor sector in Jammu District in a fresh attempt to smuggle explosives through the aerial route, reports Daily Excelsior. The IEDs, with their timers set and packed inside tiffin boxes, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, Mukesh Singh said.
