Security Forces (SFs) arrested a total of nine Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres from different places in Bijapur District in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh on June 9, reports etvbharat.com. Eight Maoists have been arrested from different areas under the Usoor Police Station area. Apart from this, one Maoist was arrested in the Naimed Police Station area. The Bijapur Police said that the Maoists, who have been arrested from Usoor and identified as Sona Kunjam (40), Anda Kadti (30), Mangu Madkam (24), Santosh Kadti (25), Sona Muchaki (22), Hadma Kadti (27), Suresh Madkam (28), and Devendra Muchaki (25), have been involved in violence and improvised explosive device (IED) explosions. "All these eight Maoists have been active in Bijapur as Jan Militia members. They have been involved in the incident of damaging the Usoor Awapalli road. Apart from this, they have allegedly put-up pamphlets and banners regarding the Maoist bandh," the Bijapur Police said. The Maoist arrested from the Naimed area has been identified as Avlam Aaytu (49), and he was involved in the incident of an attack on Police personnel in Bijapur and the Naimed area.
