Human Rights Watch (HRW) said that the execution of women from the third Doha meeting is a violation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution, reports Afghanistan International on June 18. HRW urged countries to establish a mechanism for accountability and investigation of Taliban crimes within the Human Rights Council framework. Further, HRW expressed concern about the oppressive situation of Afghan women and girls, calling on the world to recognize gender apartheid as a crime against humanity.

Subsequently, the Maoists retreated into dense forest areas, leaving behind a muzzle-loading gun and Maoist-related materials at the encounter site.
Six Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were arrested by Venkatapuram Police in Mulugu District of Telangana on June 15, reports The New Indian Express. The arrested have been identified as Karam Bhudri alias Reetha, a Wazeedu-Venkatapuram Area Committee ‘deputy commander’; Sodi Kosi alias Mothe, a Palmedu ‘area committee member (ACM)’; Sodi Vijay alias Iduma, a member of Battalion 1; Kudam Dasru, Sodi Urra, and Madakam Bhima, all the three ‘Militia’ (people’s army of the Maoists) members. Disclosing details about the arrest to the media, Mulugu Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr P Shabarish stated that the CPI-Maoist and ‘militia’ members of the Wazeedu-Venkatapuram Area Committee and Dandakaranyam Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) of the CPI-Maoist Party came together to set up their guerilla base on sticks in the Tadapal Forest area of Venkatapuram Mandal (administrative sub division) on the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. Acting on a tip-off, the Police noticed a group of armed Maoists planting explosives. The Maoists intended to kill the people and the Police by laying landmines along the footpath to prevent entry into the forest area. The Police seized a Double Barrel Breech Loading (DBBL) shotgun, four kit bags, two walkie-talkies, and explosives.

In a major seizure linked with the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Magadh Zone attempted revival case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) seized, as proceeds of terrorism, funds extorted from contractors and others in Bihar and Jharkhand that were used to finance the medical studies of a relative of some of the accused, on June 18, reports Deccan Chronicle. The money, amounting to INR 11.30 million, has been seized under Section 25(1) of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in the case RC-05/2021/NIA/RNC, registered suo moto by the NIA on December 30, 2021. The NIA said, "The transfer was done through the bank accounts of close relatives of the accused persons, under the garb of a loan amount.” The NIS stated that the beneficiary of the extorted funds is the niece of Pradyuman Sharma, who is charged and accused in the FIR and is a Special Area Committee naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] member. "She is also the sister of arrested chargesheeted accused Tarun Kumar and the cousin of arrested chargesheeted accused Abhinav alias Gaurav alias Bittu," the NIA added.

On June 14, they took a historic vow during a ‘krishi melava' or agricultural congregation at the Dhodraj Police outpost to shun Maoists and extend support to the Security Forces (SFs) in lieu of government benefits; this forms the bulwark of the 'gaonbandi' scheme. They promised to shut out Maoists, boycott their meetings, and ban their entry into villages, which are often used as launchpads for guerrilla operations, propagating ideology, or organising political and military training camps.
