Four cadres of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), identified as identified as Bitan Lohra, Lakhan Lohra, Guddu alias Machindra Lohra, and Birendra Singh, were arrested with arms and ammunition during a vehicle checking drive under the Chipadohar Police Station area in the Latehar District of Jharkhand on July 1, reports The Week. Barwadih Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Venkatesh Prasad said that the Maoists were engaged in extortion. Police seized two country-made pistols, eight cartridges, a mobile phone, and three motorcycles from their possession. JJMP is a splinter group of Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist).
