A 61yearold man from Srinagar on July 26, died after he failed to control his twowheeler during clashes at Eidgah in old city area of Srinagar, reports Daily Excelsior. Mushtaq Ahmed of Rajouri Kadal who was on his twowheeler when Security Forces (SFs) resorted to shelling at protestors at Eidgah lost control of the vehicle and fell down. A Police spokesman said, “The situation throughout Kashmir remained under control although there were about 70 incidents of stone pelting across the valley. The miscreants attacked a number of Police and security establishments and camps,” adding, “Militants lobbed a grenade on the police and CRPF personnel deployed for law and order duty at Shopian. Earlier, for the first time in 52 days, curfew was lifted from the entire Kashmir valley, barring three Police stations, on August 29, setting the stage for the visit of an allparty delegation to the state on September 4, reports Times of India. However, curfew was reimposed in some parts at night after fresh tension. Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lead the delegation in a bid to explore dialogue as part of a political process to bring peace to the valley. The team will meet a crosssection of individuals and outfits in Srinagar on September 4 and 5. The visit could be extended by a day if it goes to Jammu as well. Read less...
