The Radio Nepal has reported that security forces (SFs) killed four Maoist insurgents in separate encounters in Sankhuwasabha and Teharathum on November 1. While a woman rebel attempting to break a security cordon was shot dead in Sankhuwasabha, three others were killed at Taplejung in retaliatory firing after a socket bomb attack. Further, another Maoist was killed in an encounter in Bara on the same day.

On the same day, SFs shot dead an insurgent while the latter was extorting money at Guluwa in the Ramechap district. Separately, in another Maoist ambush, five SF personnel were injured at Madaha in the Mohottari district on November 28.

According to Nepal News, the International Police Organisation (Interpol) on November 29 issued ‘red corner’ notices against seven more Maoists. Warrants have been issued in the name of Maoist leaders Chandra Prakash Gajurel, Agni Sapkota, Matrika Yadav, Ishwori Dahal, Haribol Gajurel, Devendra Parajuli and Hitraj Pandey. Chandra Prakash Gajurel is currently facing court charges in India for traveling on a fake British passport. As reported earlier, the Interpol on November 27 had issued warrants against Maoist leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda and Baburam Bhattarai, among others.
