Prime Minister Koirala administered the oath of office and secrecy to the members of interim cabinet as well as state ministers. The five Maoists who were sworn in as cabinet ministers are Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Dev Gurung, Matrika Yadav, Hisila Yami and Khadga Bahadur Biswokarma.

While the Maoists claimed that Abhischa of the Maoist-affiliated Chure Janasanskritik Samaj (CJS) was killed during the scuffle, the other parties said that Abischa died after he fell from the hills. One Maoist, identified as Shambhu Sharma, and a MJF activist, identified as Birendra Mandal, were wounded in the incident. Police have arrested two Maoists along with some weapons.
