Two Policemen, identified as Head Constable, Azhar Abbas and Constable, Azam, were shot dead by unidentified militants while on duty at Dakkhana near Gul Ahmed Textile Mills in Quaidabad area of Bin Qasim Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh on August 19, reports The Express Tribune. Quaidabad Police Station House Officer (SHO), Amanullah Marwat claimed that it was a targeted attack. He said that the assailants also stole the Police Officers official weapons.
Separately, another Head Constable Tahir Mehmood (46), was shot dead within the limits of Ittehad Town Police Station in Shanti Nagar area of Baldia Town on August 19, reports The Express Tribune. Police officials believe that the Police are being targeted in retaliation to the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
In another incident, a Quran teacher and a member of Jama'at-e-Islami (JeI), identified as Qari Muhammad Ishaq, was shot dead in his house within the limits of the Surjani Town Police Station in Gadap Town on August 19, reports The Express Tribune.
