Police in the Sopore area of Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir on September 16 recovered the dead body of an Over Ground Worker (OGW) of militants after he escaped from the police custody, reports Greater Kashmir. Police in a statement said that on September 15, one OGW, identified as Irfan Ahmad Dar was arrested from Sopore and two Chinese Hand Grenades were recovered from his possession. “During the course of investigation, a Police Team visited Chairdaji area of Tujjar-Sharief along with OGW for affecting some more recovery on the disclosure of the OGW,” read the statement. The OGW while taking advantage of darkness and terrain managed to escape. Police later recovered his dead body.
Meanwhile, Army on September 16 retrieved the body of intruder who was shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) at the Line of Control (LoC) in Dulanja village of Uri in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir on September 15, reports Greater Kashmir. He was identified as Kamran Chack of Bandi, Sochian, District Hattian Bala in Pakistan administrated Kashmir (PaK), police said. SATP on September 16 had reported that the BSF on September 15 shot dead an intruder in Uri sector of Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir.
