Two Pakistani militants were killed in an encounter at Dadal forests near the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on July 8, reports Daily Excelsior. Two Indian Army p[personnel were also killed in action. Army personnel were searching a group of militants which had infiltrated into the Indian Territory from the LoC in Sunderbani since June 28-29. Security Forces (SFs) recovered two AK-47 rifles and ammunition in large quantity besides explosive material from the site of encounter.
Police identified two militants killed in the encounter with SFs at Puchal area of Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on July 8 as Kifayat Ramzan Sofi, resident of Padgampora Awantipora in Pulwama District and Inayat Ahmad Dar, resident of resident of Samboora in Pulwama District, reports Daily Excelsior. Kifayat was associated with Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) and Inayat was from Al Badr. Police also identified two militants killed in the encounter with SFs at Zodar area of Kulgam District on July 8 as Nasir Ahmad Pandith, resident of Redwani in Kulgam District and Shahbaz Ahmad Shah, resident of Katrusu in Kulgam District. Both of them are associated with LeT, adds Daily Excelsior. SATP reported these encounters on July 8.
Police arrested a suspect, identified as Mohammad Majloon Sheikh, a guide and resident of Dudran Boniyar in Baramulla District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior on July 9. He was arrested in the case in connection with the foiled ex-filtration bid along Uri in Baramulla District on July 2.
Police arrested Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) militant, identified as Danish Ahmed Dar, and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance from his possession at Archandarhama Magam near railway crossing during a vehicle checking under Magam Police Station limits in Budgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior on July 9. Police recovered 1.2 kilograms of explosive substance and two electronic detonators were recovered from his bag.
