Two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants surrendered before the Security Forces (SFs) after a brief exchange of fire in Tongdounu area in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India early on December 22 (today), reports Daily Excelsior. An official said joint team of Srinagar and Kulgam Police, army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Tongdounu area of Kulgam early today. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Vijay Kumar said that after initial exchange of fire, the militants belonging to LeT and involved in killing of Personal Security Officer (PSO) Manzoor Ahmad of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Haji Perwaiz Ahmad Bhat in Asthan Mohalla Natipora in Srinagar, surrendered after they were offered to lay down the arms. Earlier, SATP had reported about the killing incident on December 16.
