An all-party meeting held at the headquarters of the main opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) on December 21 concluded that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s move to dissolve the House of Representatives is a severe assault on the spirit of the Constitution of Nepal, reports Republica. The meeting attended by the leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), NC and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) to forge strategies to tackle the new development following the dissolution of the lower house, concluded that the ‘unconstitutional’ move by PM Oli indicates that he is headed toward autocracy. “We’ll jointly object to the undemocratic and unconstitutional move by the prime minister,” said Ramesh Lekhak, a NC leader.
