Three major political parties in the North have begun discussions to present a resolution on behalf of their constituents at the 46th UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting in Geneva next March, reports Daily News on December 19. Parliamentarian M.A Sumanthiran on behalf of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), former Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Vigneswaran on behalf of the Tamil Makkal Thesiya Kuttani (TMTK) and Parliamentarian Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam on behalf of the All-Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) have already discussed the matter. It has also been decided to draft the resolution under their leadership.
