Three children were injured in an explosion near an encounter site at Heff Shirmal in Shopian District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on September 13, reports Greater Kashmir. A leftover shell exploded at an encounter site at Heff Shirmal, injuring three children who were playing nearby, the officials said. The children have been rushed to a hospital. An encounter took place at Heff Shirmal on September 12 in which one local militant was killed and a soldier was injured.
Meanwhile, Security Forces (SFs) on September 13 conducted intense searches in villages of Rajouri District amid reports of suspicious movement of terrorists in the areas, reports Greater Kashmir. Searches were conducted during two different operations in Manjakote Police Station jurisdiction and Thanamandi Police Station jurisdiction. Officials informed that over reports of suspicious movement in these upper reaches areas, joint teams of Army and Police conducted these operations that were started in the early morning hours on September 14 and were still going on when last reports were received.
