The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on September 13, sentenced absconding war criminal Khalilur Rahman to death for his crimes against humanity during the Liberation War of 1971, reports The Daily Star. Prosecutor Rezia Sultana said three of the four accused in the case died during the trial.Khalilur was a ‘commander’ of Al Badr in Chandigarh Union Parishad, she added.Charges of illegal detention, torture, abduction, looting, arson, vandalism, attempted rape, rape, murder and genocide in 1971 were brought against the accused.
