Sri Lankan Foreign Minister, G. L. Peiris while briefing the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland, during a virtual meeting as part of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 19 said that reconciliation efforts by external bodies are unacceptable, reports Tamil Guardian. “This is an ongoing process, and the country requires sufficient space for the local institutions to deliver on their mandates. The work done by these institutions cannot be replaced or taken over by external bodies,” he said.
