A railway policeman, on December 4, narrowly escaped unhurt after unidentified militants fired at him in Railway Station Panzgam of Awantipora area in Pulwama District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. According to Police sources, Police and security forces cordoned off Dogripora village of the Awantipora amid reports that militants went insidethe village. Search operation is underway.
On December 4, a militant belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was arrested from Poshkar area of Budgam District, reports Daily Excelsior. The arrested militant identified as Abdul Hameed Nath is a close aide of top LeT commander Mohammad Yusuf Kantro. Incriminating materials including a pistol and one magazine, five pistol rounds and one Chinese grenade were recovered from the arrestee during a search operation.
