The Frontier Corps (FC) on January 2 claimed to have killed four suspected militantsin the Naal area of Khuzdar District, reports Dawn. One FC trooper was also killed during an exchange of fire with suspected militants. FC’s spokesman (Balochistan) said several suspected militants were also arrested during the operation. The forces also seized weapons and arms from the possession of militants during the action. "Forces also demolished the camp of miscreants," the spokesman said. He stated that the FC launched the operation in the aftermath of an attack on a levies check post in the area. The militants had snatched weapons and motorcycles from levies personnel during the attack. "They all belonged to a banned militant group", he added.

Seven personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) were killed and one injured when militants attacked a checkpost of the Security Forces (SFs) in the Mekhtar area of Loralai District in Balochistan on January 12, reports The News. The FC officials said that around 40 militants armed with automatic weapons attacked the FC checkpost. As a result, all the eight personnel of the force sustained multiple bullet injuries and seven of them died on the spot. The FC personnel launched a counter attack, killing one attacker and injuring many others.

At least 15 Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) militants and a Frontier Corps (FC) official were killed in a gun battle in Basima area of Kharan District on February 10, reported The Express Tribune. According to details Security Forces (SFs) had launched a search operation in Khori village of Basima area when a group of militants hiding inside a bunker suddenly started firing at them. “As result of the firing, a security official was killed and three others wounded,” said an unnamed FC spokesperson. In retaliatory firing, FC killed at least 15 militants belonging to BLF. SFs recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the site.

Six more Baloch Republican Army (BRA) terrorists were killed and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered on the second day of the operation carried out by the Frontier Corps (FC) in Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti District on March 12, reports The News. Around 1,000 troops backed by helicopters took part in the operation. “Security forces have killed at least 13 militants who were hiding in the gas field when they refused to surrender,” said a FC spokesman Manzoor Ahmed. There was no loss on security forces side, he added. Provincial Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the militants were members of the BRA. “We have evidence that they were members of the BRA and were terrorists,” he said, adding, “We took this action for peace in the region and we will act against the miscreants wherever we get an information about them.”

Levies official Sanaullah, said the passengers were taken out from the coaches after which armed men opened fire at them. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Soon after reports of abduction emerged, Police and Frontier Corps officials rushed to the area and there were reports of heavy exchange of fire between Security Forces (SFs) and the kidnappers. According to the Balochistan Levies, a convoy of tribal elders Mir Gul Khan Marri and Bahwal Khan Marri was its way home when it was hit by an IED.
