Five soldiers were killed and several others injured when an Army convoy was come under attack of Baloch militants at Nahing Kaor in Zamuran area of Kech District in Balochistan on July 7, reports The Balochistan Post. According to details, a convoy of Army consisting of five vehicles while on their way to a military camp at Narom, was ambushed by militants at Nahing Kaor. The Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar (BRAS) claimed the responsibility for the attack later on July 9. BRAS is an alliance of four Baloch militant outfits-- Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) and Baloch Republican Guard (BRG). Baloch Khan, a spokesman for the BRAS issued a statement saying, “BRAS fighters targeted a convoy of five Frontier Corps vehicles, on July 7 at Nahing Kaor in the Zamran area of Kech District as they were heading to ‘Narom’ military camp. The attack completely destroyed two army vehicles, killing five soldiers on the spot and injuring several others. In this fierce attack, the fighters besieged the army for a long time – to save their lives, the enemy army had to call in combat helicopters. However, all our Sarmachars (fighters) managed to get out safely after the attack.”

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said the militants carried out the "fire raid" when the SF security personnel were on routine patrol Kahan area. The injured soldiers include an officer. Five of the injured security personnel are in critical condition, the statement added. However, Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed of killing at least 20 army personnel in the attack, reports The Balochistan Post. At least six persons were killed and 21 others injured in a bomb blast targeting an Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) vehicle on Mall Road of Chaman town in Qilla Abdullah District of Balochistan on August 10, reports Daily Times. According to Police Inspector Muhammad Mohsin, unidentified persons had planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a motorbike that was parked on the roadside. Chaman town Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Zakaullah Durrani said the explosion targeted the ANF vehicle.

Three Army personnel were killed and four others injured when an Army patrolling vehicle was targeted with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Zumran area of Buleda Tehsil (revenue unit) in Kech District of Balochistan on September 3, reports The Balochistan Post. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for this attack in a media released statement. BLF’s ‘spokesman’, ‘major’ Gwahram Baloch claimed that the blast resulted in damages to the vehicle and killed three personnel of Pakistani forces while four others were wounded.

Security Forces (SFs) shot dead four Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) militants during an operation in Raghe Kalan area of Mashkay tehsil (revenue unit) in Awaran District of Balochistan on September 19, reports Daily Times. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the SFs conducted an intelligence-based operation in Awaran District and on confirmation of militants in central Makran range took the action. The SFs during their operation completely destroyed the militants’ hideout including the logistic base while a large cache of arms, ammunition and communication equipment were seized from there.

At last 14 persons, including seven Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were killed on October 15 when an Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL) convoy was attacked by Baloch militants on the Coastal Highway near Ormara area of Gwadar District in Balochistan, reports Geo TV. Seven private security guards were also killed. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the encounter took place between Security Forces (SFs) and militants on the Coastal Highway when a convoy of OGDCL was being escorted from Gwadar (Balochistan) to Karachi (Sindh). "Security forces responded effectively, ensured security of the OGDCL persons and managed their safe exit from the area," the press release said, adding that "substantial losses were also incurred to the terrorists" during the clash. Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS) claimed the responsibility of the attack. In an email sent to media outlets, the BRAS claimed that “BRAS fighters eliminated more than 15 enemy personnel and agents of exploitative company” in the attack.

The military’s media wing said after the attack, the security force launched a large-scale search and clearance operation. "[The area] has been cordoned off; escape routes have been blocked."
