A small flotilla of Sea Tiger (the sea wing of the LTTE) boats opened fire towards the SFs point manned by Army soldiers and Navy sailors. As the troops opened retaliatory fire, the militants fled further towards the north east with their casualties onboard the sea craft that became targets of ground troops supported by artillery.
