The first incident took place at the Adezai area in Matani region, where a blast damaged a room in a girls’ primary school. The second blast also occurred at a girls’ school located in the Mariamzai area. It caused damage to the school building.

A time bomb was planted in the CNG kit of a vehicle, he told reporters at the site of the attack, adding that artillery shells were also used in the device to increase intensity of the blast. The target of the bombing is suspected to be a Police Station in Badhaber area.

At least nine persons were killed and 31 others injured when a suicide bomber detonated his vehicle near a police patrol in a densely populated area of Hangu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 3, reports The Express Tribune. “The bomber blew himself up when a police patrol went close to the car for a security check in Hangu town,” said senior local police official Abdul Rasheed, adding, “Nine people including three policemen were martyred and 31 injured in the attack, which targeted the police. The injured include 12 women and four children.” Rasheed said the bomber was carrying some 300 kilograms of explosives in his vehicle, adding that the blast caused 13 houses and shops to collapse. Police spokesman Fazal Naeem confirmed the attack and casualties, further adding that “the blast created a 10-foot deep and 15-foot wide crater.”

The Police raided the house of a prayer leader Maulvi Jalaluddin at the refugee camp and arrested him along with his four sons, including Haroonur Rashid, Bihlol Khan, Saeedullah and Salahuddin. It was reported that Jalaluddin had regular contacts with the Pakistani and Afghan militants. The sources said that Police also recovered a cache of arms, including an LMG rocket, one LMG barrel, 10 kilogrammes of explosives, two hand-grenades, five detonators, 22 explosive crackers, 13 fuses and 300 cartridges from the house.
