A hardcore woman Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadre carrying a cash reward of INR 800,000 on her head was killed in an encounter in Dhamtari District of Chhattisgarh on June 18, reports The Pioneer. According to Police, they had received specific intelligence input about presence of Maoists in the forests of Kattipani and Tarajhar under Borai Police Station limits, following which a search operation was launched by elite commandos of Special Task Force (STF), and in the subsequent encounter resulted in the killing of a woman Maoist. After the encounter, Maoists escaped into the forest and later while searching of area body of a woman Maoist in uniform was recovered along with an INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) assault rifle with two magazines from the encounter spot. The slain woman Maoist was identified as Seema, secretary and Divisional Committee Member (DVCM) of Sitanadi area committee and carried a reward of INR 800,000 on her head, Police claimed. Seema was wanted in connection with serious Maoist incidents like, murder, loot, arson, dacoity and others, Police added.
