At the special invitation of the Pope, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith and a group of 56 others have left the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on April 22 on two planes bound for Rome, reports Colombo Page. Eight Bishops, including the Archbishop of Colombo left for Doha, on a Qatar Airways flight QR-659 at 05.02 on April 22 morning. The group will then depart Doha on another flight to Rome. The other group included 18 priests and nuns, four victims at the Zion Church in Batticaloa, six victims at the Kochchikade Church in Colombo and 20 at the Katuwapitiya Church in Negombo. The group had left the BIA at 10.05 am on April 22 on an Emirates flight EK-651 bound for Dubai. The group will then board another flight to Rome.
