A terrorist was killed by Security Forces (SFs) during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 20, reports Dawn. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intense exchange of fire took place between the SFs and terrorists during the operation. “As a result, terrorist Muhammad Sohail was sent to hell,” ISPR added. The slain terrorist remained “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against law enforcement agencies as well as target killings of innocent civilians”, the ISPR added further.
One terrorist was killed in the crossfire with Security Forces (SFs) when a group of terrorists attacked an armoured personnel carrier in Kot Azam area of Tank District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on February 19, where re-polling was taking place as part of the General election, reports The Khorasan Diary. Initial reports suggest heavy firing from both sides, with reports of injuries. Polling was stoppedfor some time, said Police. The police vehicle was on security duty for re-polling on six polling stations at the National Assembly (NA-43) constituency of Tank-cum-Dera Ismail Khan, adds Dawn. On February 8, the polling did not take place at the six polling stations, including one at Kot-Azam in Tank and five in Kulachi tehsil, due to deteriorating law and order situation.
