The Moga Police have recovered 4.290 kilograms of heroin, of an international market value of INR 210 millionfrom the International Border (IB) in Ferozepur District of Punjab on March 24, reports The Tribune. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmanbir Singh Gill, one Bagicha Singh, a resident of Chugee village in the said District, was arrested by the local Police from Dharamkot bus stand in Moga District with 50 grams of heroin on March 20. During investigation, he revealed that another consignment of more than 2 kilograms of heroin was smuggled from Pakistan into his fields across the fencing along the IB. Following which, Moga Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jangjit Singh and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff in-charge Kikkar Singh visited the fields of the accused and recovered four plastic bottles filled with heroin along with a .30 bore pistol. Further investigations revealed that the accused had been getting consignments of contraband from his counterparts in Pakistan for the past few years.
