The C-60 Commandos of the Gadchiroli Police have intensified anti-Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) operations in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra, reports The Times of India on March 25. The operations are strategically streamlined and strengthened as a precautionary measure after the recent attack on the Security Forces (SFs) by the Maoists in Chhattisgarh in which 17 SFs were killed. The Superintendent of Police (SP) Shailesh Balkawade said that the operations cannot be discontinued or scaled down as the Maoists will regain the ground or regroup.
