Security Forces (SFs) comprising of Police, Indian Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) arrested one Lashkar-e- Toiba (LeT) militant, identified as Muhammad Younis Mir, resident of Choon in Budgam District and his four associates, identified as Imran Zahoor Ganie of Kulbug, Umer Farooq Wani of Ompora, Faizan Qayoom Ganie and Shahnawaz Ahmad Mir of Choon, all four of them from Budgam District based on specific information and recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including one Chinese pistol, one magazine and eight live pistol rounds and two hand grenades from them at Budgam District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on July 19, reports Daily Excelsior. They have been in touch with the Pakistan based militant ‘commanders’ through various social media platforms and also with local militant ‘commanders’ of LeT in J&K.
Police have identified one of the two militants killed in an encounter at Check-e-Sadiq Khan area of Shopian District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on July 19 as Majid Iqbal Bhat, a resident of Melibagh Imamsahab in Shopian District, reports Daily Excelsior. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) has reported about the incident on July 19.
Police have conducted extensive searches in BalJarallan village of Rajouri District in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on July 17-18, after locals have claimed to have seen three suspected people near a forest and informed the Police, reports Greater Kashmir.
