On April 7, a joint operation was conducted by Manipur Police, commandos and the 33 Assam Riflesin the Uchiwa Lamhang area under the Mayang Imphal region of Imphal West District of Manipur, reports East Mojo. The recovered items included two Single Barrel Breech Loader (SBBL) guns, four.36 highly explosive (HE) hand grenades, two tube launchers, two Kenwood Walkie Talkie sets, one locally-made 9 mm pistol with a magazine, five 7.62 mm self-loading rifle (SLR) ammunition rounds, 21 .303 rifle ammunition rounds, 24 .38 revolver ammunition rounds, one ammunition charger guard, one SLR with a magazine, and one carbine with a magazine.
On April 8, one person identified as Ngashingpam Siro (18) was arrested along with two hand grenades and five 7.62 mm live rounds from Moirengthel village in Tengnoupal District of Manipur, reports Northeast Now.
