On April 8, two cadres of Kuki-Chin National Front (KCNF) were arrested along with arms and ammunition in a search operation at Bathelpara in Ruma Upazila in Bandarban District of Chittagong Division, reports The Daily Star. Recoveries include seven locally made weapons, 20 rounds of bullets, a laptop, uniforms and boots.
On April 7, The Rapid Action Battalion arrested a ‘chief coordinator’ of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KCNF), identified asCheusim Bawm, from his home inSaron Para in Suwalok Union in the Sadar Upazila (Sub-District) in Bandarban Districtof Chittagong Division, reports bd news 24. The arrest followed attacks on three banks by armed assailants linked to the outfit.
On April 7, four individuals from the Bawm ethnic minority group, including a woman, were arrested for their involvement in bank robberies in Thanchi Upazila (Sub-District) and the Reicha checkpoint area in Sadar Upazila, respectively, in Bandarban District of Chittagong Division, as reported by The Daily Star. Police stated that three of these four people were allegedly involved in the Ruma bank robbery, while the fourth one was a local driver who allegedly transported the gunmen involved in the Thanchi bank robbery.
