A Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) trooper, identified as Naik Dilshad, was killed in firing outside a check post in Bahar colony of Lyari Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh, on August 7, reports ARY News. According to the Rangers spokesperson, suspected motorcyclists were asked to stop at a check post for snap checking but they opened fire on the Rangers personnel.
A Journalist, identified as Ghulam Asghar Khund, was killed by an unidentified assailant in Ahmedpur area of Khairpur District of Sindh on August 7, reports ARY News. Police said that one unidentified assailant opened fire on journalist Ghulam Asghar Khund when he was going to press club from his home. The brother of deceased journalist Ghulam Asghar, Mushtaq Khund was also killed a few years back.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on August 6 arrested a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist — wanted by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Government for terror attacks in the Sindh province — at the Karachi airport, reports Geo News. FIA's Immigration Cell thwarted Ehsan-ul-Haq attempt to flee abroad who hails from the Swabi District of KP. The KP Home Department had set a reward of PKR one million on Ehsan-ul-Haq.
