Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ms. Toshiko Abe on June 12 said that Japan is ready to provide full support to Sri Lanka to face global terrorism, reports Colombo Page. During a special discussion held with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees in Colombo on counter terrorism measures and regional security cooperation, the Japanese Minister said that Sri Lanka and Japan directing attention on signing a defense agreement between the two countries would be an important step in preventing international terrorist activities from seeping into the country.Premier Wickremesinghe has expressed gratitude for Japan’s assistance to Sri Lanka in counterterrorism in both equipment and training.
