The Delhi High Court on November 30, refused a plea to put former Popular Front of India (PFI) ‘chairman’ Erappungal Abubacker under house arrest instead of jail, reports news9live.com. The High Court also issued notice to the National Investigative Agency (NIA) on Abubacker's plea seeking bail on medical grounds. A division bench comprising Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Talwant Singh also asked the NIA and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to file a status report on his ailments and the requisite treatment. Abubacker was arrested by the NIA on September 22, 2022.
