Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre (CPN-Maoist Center) and Nepal Socialist Party (NSP) have been jointly registered as parties on August 16 at the Election Commission (EC) for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assemblies, reports My Republica. Both the parties agreed during the Maoist Standing Committee meeting held at the central party office of CPN-Maoist Center in Paris Danda to contest the election under the same symbol in the upcoming elections. The meeting also decided to allow Baburam Bhattarai to contest the election on the Maoist Center’s election symbol. NSP Chairman Bhattarai and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal supported the idea of contesting with the same election symbol in the upcoming federal and provincial assembly members elections. The leaders of CPN-Maoist Center and NSP reached the EC on August 16 afternoon for party registration. The commission had given time to political parties for party registration from 7 to 16 August.
