Arms and ammunition were recovered in the run-up to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls at Soraibil area in Ripu Reserve Forest near India-Bhutan border in Kokrajhar District of Assam on December 5, reports The Assam Tribune. The recovered weapons and ammunition included two AK-56 rifles with magazines, two handmade AK-56 rifles, six muzzle loaded pipe guns, seven 7.65 mm pistols, 26 magazines of 7.65 mm pistol, three country-made pistols, five grenades, three country-made bottle bombs and several rounds of ammunition of different calibre. Kokrajhar, Superintendent of Police (SP), Rakesh Roashan said the arms and ammunition were found buried in a thickly forested area.
