At least 21 Islamic State (IS) militants were killed during air raids carried out by Afghan air forces in Nangarhar on March 7, reports bakhtarnews.com. The IS fighters have been targeted and killed in different parts of Momand Dara and Achin Districts of the province. It has been said, two hideouts of IS along with all military equipment have been destroyed during the attacks, the source added.
Earlier on March 6, Afghan Special Forces repelled an attack near the Jalalabad airfield killing four fighters and destroying three suicide vests, three magnetic IEDs and one vehicle-borne IED, the sources added.
Also, Intelligence operatives have detained a key Haqqani Network ‘commander’ in Nangarhar province, an official said March 7, reports Pajhwok.com. Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
