On January 25, a Taliban court sentenced 11 persons, including three women, to public floggings on a range of charges in Taliqan, the provincial capital of Takhar Province, reports Hasht-e Subh Daily. The punishment meted out by the Taliban included floggings for offenses such as extramarital relationships, elopement, and theft of public property.
