According to The News, the Pakistan embassy in Thailand’s capital Bangkok has received a letter from a mysterious group threatening terrorist attacks against countries supporting the US-led operations in Iraq. The letter, similar to an earlier warning sent to the South Korean embassy, from a group calling itself "Yellow-Red Overseas Organisation," was reportedly received at the Pakistan mission on April 19. It threatened attacks on major facilities in Australia, Japan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand between April 20 and 30. Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali is due to visit Thailand from April 28 to hold talks with his Thai counterpart Thaksin Shinawatra in Bangkok. While First Secretary Ryoo Jung-Young confirmed receipt of the letter at the South Korean embassy, an unnamed Pakistani diplomat said he was unaware that the embassy had received any such threat.

"This man was taken after an attack on a US base in Balad," said a masked gunman on a tape broadcast by the channel. You have three days from the date of this recording and after that we will behead him. We have warned you." In the tape, the hostage, reportedly identified as Yousuf Amjad, urged President Pervez Musharraf to close the Pakistani Embassy in Iraq and to ban all Pakistanis from coming to that country. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat said Pakistan is in the process of confirming the abduction and threats. The "Islamic Army in Iraq", an armed group in Iraq, has threatened to kill two Pakistani hostages in a statement carried by Al-Jazeera television network on July 26. The group said that it was also holding an Iraqi hostage and demanded that the trio’s Kuwait-based employer halt its operations in Iraq or face dire consequences. The footage broadcast on Al Jazeera showed the identity cards and video footage of two Pakistanis, Azad Hussein Khan and Sajjad Naeem, who were reported missing since last week. "One of the two Pakistanis works as a technician for the American forces and the second is a driver for these forces," said the statement, adding that after investigation, "it was decided to execute the two." "It was decided to execute them on the grounds of irrefutable proof of their collaboration with the Americans and because of statements by Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf on sending troops to Iraq," the group said.

Rahman, general secretary of the MMA, while ruling out any compromise on the issue said, "We know Musharraf is a dictator. But we are democrats and there is no way we would back down on this issue."
