According to the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA), two Maoist insurgents were killed during an operation at Naumule in the Dailekh district on April 12. An unspecified number of socket bombs, explosives and Maoist documents were recovered from the incident site. Meanwhile, RNA sources have reportedly confirmed a fresh clash between security forces (SF) and Maoists near Khara in the Rukum district on April 13-14. The clash is reportedly continuing and the Maoists have suffered heavy loses during the incident, claimed SF sources.

According to a press release issued by the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA), at least three Maoist insurgents were killed during clashes with security forces (SFs) in different parts of the country on April 4. Two ‘district committee members’ of the Maoists, identified as Pashupat Mahato and Bidur Baitha, were killed in the Kanakpur area of Rautahat district, while another Maoist ‘area committee member’, Tal Bahadur Shahi, was killed in the Seri area of Mugu district. Troops reportedly recovered a pistol, socket bombs, combat dresses and different materials for logistical support from the slain insurgents. Further, SFs defused a ‘bucket bomb’ placed by the insurgents at Charbahini road in Nepalginj, Banke district, and six other bombs in different areas of the Kanchanpur district on April 3.

Nepal News quoting a statement released by the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) has reported that security forces (SF) have killed at least seven Maoist insurgents during separate operations in the last 24 hours. On April 7, a Maoist 'district secretary' and an 'area committee secretary' were killed in an encounter at Okhara in the Dang district and another insurgent at Bhaisahi in Rautahat district. Further, two Maoists, identified as Bijaya Adhikari and Kamal B.K alias Nekon, were killed in a security operation at Poripali in the Jajarkot district on April 6. On the same day, one Maoist, identified as Baburam, was shot dead in an encounter at Manpur in Dang district. An unspecified quantity of socket bombs, combat dresses, money and Maoist literature were recovered from the slain insurgents.

According to Himalayan Times, the Army has claimed that at least 43 Maoist insurgents were killed and over 100 injured during an encounter at Taple in the Udayapur district on May 16. Eight dead bodies were reportedly recovered from the incident site and 35 more bodies were found at Gobari area in the same district. Eight soldiers and one police personnel were also killed in this incident. Security forces (SFs) recovered two SLRs, seven .303 rifles, one SMG and a huge quantity of socket bombs and other explosives from the encounter site.

According to Nepal Samacharpatra, three Maoist insurgents and two security force (SF) personnel were killed and an unspecified number of people were injured during a clash between the SFs and Maoists at Dandakharka Village Development Committee (VDC) area in the Makawanpur district on October 6. Maoists have claimed that they had captured a large amount of arms from the SFs, including one SLR, one thousand rounds of bullets, six magazines, four grenades and two shells of two-inch mortar from the incident site. The slain insurgents were identified as ‘assistant platoon commanders’ Tshiring and Ramesh and ‘section commander’ Hunkar. This is the second clash between the two sides after the three month unilateral cease-fire announced by the Maoists on September 3.
